Bike Maintenance Course for Female Riders

Learn to maintain your bike with Pedal Progression and Tribe Adventures teaching you the basics of trail side repairs in a super friendly and non-intimidating environment.
From total beginners to seasoned riders, we’ve noticed that many women don’t know how or are intimidated by the idea of working on their own bike. Let's change that!
After the session there will be an optional social ride for riders who have previously been on the Intro to MTB course or are already confident riding the trails at Ashton Court. Finishing off with the chance to grab a coffee /lunch for those that would like.
Please note that bike hire is not included for this course. If you wish to join the social ride after the course you will need your own bike or to hire one from Pedal Progression prior to the day.
This 2 hour course starts at 9:30.
9.30am - 11.30am - Female-Only Bike Maintenance Course
11.30am - 12.30pm - Social ride
12.30pm - 1pm - Regroup, reconnect, refuel (coffee/lunch!)
Course content:
Detailed pre-ride safety checks
Cleaning and general maintenance
Puncture repairs (tubes and tubeless)
Chain repair
Basic trailside repairs

11.30am - 12.30pm - Social ride
12.30pm - 1pm - Post ride cuppa & cake
A 2 hr workshop for fellow female riders wishing to learn about basic bike maintenance and trail side repairs, such as;
Pre-ride safety checks
How to clean your bike effectively and which products to use
Puncture repairs (tubes and tubeless)
Chain repair
Basic trailside repairs

9.30am - 11.30am - Female only Suspension set up workshop based both in the workshop and on the trail.
11.30pm - 12pm - Post session coffee & catch up
A hands on session to teach you how to get your suspension set up for a dialled ride: In this session you will get familiar with the compression and rebound settings of the suspension system on your bike. You'll learn how to do a basic set up including the pros and cons of different adjustments and how you would tailor the set up to different rides and terrain. You'll get a chance to test ride your settings and discuss outcomes with a mountain bike coach.

9.30am - 11.30am - Female only Gear indexing introduction workshop
11.30pm - 1pm - Social ride and coffee catch up
Learn how to trouble shoot most common issues of a cable operated gear system: You'll learn how to diagnose problems in your gear setup and how to fix (or decide if you want to try and fix!). You'll have time to experiment on your own bike to get familiar with what you ride and discuss the sometimes unique set up of individual makes and models.
